Job Title:  Environmental Practice Leader

 Location: Las Vegas or Reno

Status:  Full-Time/Exempt

Summary:  Responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of all resources provided by GES within their program.  Practice Leader must be proactive about developing systems and methods of sharing personnel and resources within the company primarily by coordinating the efforts of engineers, geologists, and managers.  Assure that all services within the program conform to the commitments the firm has made to the client, that the projects are technically sound, and that they are completed on time & within budget.  Will serve as project manager on projects as needed.  In addition, Practice Leader will serve and act as the Company’s Safety Officer.

 

Essential Job Functions:

·         Mentor others
·         Create a balanced workload for staff
·         Perform responsibilities of Project Manager & Client Manager
·         Promote and maintain an atmosphere of harmony among staff
·         Show leadership qualities continuously
·         Provide monthly recommendations and quarterly projections to president regarding program staffing, equipment, continuing education and in-house training needs
·         Provide input regarding the status and needs related to Programs’ services at monthly strategic planning meetings
·         Develop marketing strategies
·         Perform business development and marketing
·         Maintain excellent client relationships and satisfaction
·         Meet all profitability expectations of the Program
·         Promote GES publicly; support all goals of the company
·         Assist with SOQ preparation
·         Manage Projects
·         Maintain involvement with professional associations
·         Actively participate in at least 2 professional societies/associations
·         Motivate staff, set goals and conduct effective 1-2-1 sessions
·         Coordinate interviews & hiring of prospective program staff members
·         Perform performance evaluations of staff supervised
·         Serve and act as Company’s Safety Officer

 

Education, Knowledge, and Skills Preferred:

 

·         B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or related field
·         P.E. or C.E.M. in Nevada
·         At least 5 years of experience relevant to position since obtaining professional license
·         Leadership, communication & organization skills
·         Proficient computer skills
·         Proficient understanding of technical aspects under their direction
·         Consulting background & attitude (i.e. awareness of budgets & customer service)
